I thought of the planet Neptune
and its diamond rain or the moon
Triton where the snow is pink
as I climbed to the solar field while
glassy shines pricked my eyes and
the sky was a sheer of refracted blue.
At the top I found, as nitrogen filled
my spongey lungs, the yellow patch
where the sappy icicle dripped
from the cracking, snapping tree.
I said when I got home, it’s fun
to travel in space and play with
universe stuff on a Friday afternoon.
