The stopped clock
They say a stopped clock is right twice a day.
They also say a stopped clock is more right
than any other clock, because on those stalled
nanoseconds, it’s as accurate as time itself.
Which is why I know that stillness—those minutes
of being when time is irrelevant, when in
a moment of eternity we forget the past’s regrets
and the future’s fears —is itself utterly, perfectly right.
